Incorporating QR codes into employee ID cards, plant cards, or labels for plant items is an effective way to make information readily accessible. A supervisor or authorised personnel can scan these QR codes to quickly verify training, competency, and maintenance history linked to Lucidity. See below for step by step instructions to generate QR codes.
1. Generating QR codes for ID cards and labels
-
Exporting data from Lucidity:
- Use the Excel export feature from Lucidity's modules (HR, Competency, Asset) to generate the required URLs for each user's record.
- This export includes necessary URLs and other relevant information to be converted into QR codes by the card printing software.
-
Printing QR codes with card printers:
- Card printers use specialised software to design cards with background images, logos, and other details.
- Connect the Excel export to the card design software to print double-sided colour cards, which can include emergency contact information, names, and images.
- Suggested card printer: Evolis Primacy.
-
Printing QR codes with label printers:
- Label printers, typically black and white and using thermal transfer, are ideal for printing QR codes for plant items.
- They can print both individual and bulk QR codes.
- For water-resistant labels, use polypropylene (PP) label stock and a resin ribbon to ensure durability for outdoor use.
- Suggested label printer: TSC TX-600.
By following these steps, you can seamlessly integrate QR codes into your ID cards and labels, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of accessing important information within Lucidity.
