1. Installing a wall-mounted access point
This procedure describes how to install a Lucidity wall-mounted access point.
1.1. Considerations
- Mount the Access Point out of direct sunlight and with weather protection, despite its IP65 rating.
- Ensure any penetrations to the box are watertight.
- Position the box so it doesn't block gate openings.
- Two-person installation is recommended.
- A power point/GPO is required within 75cm of the mounting location for the low voltage DC power supply.
1.2. Equipment list
Included with each Access Point:
- IP65 Access Point enclosure (containing embedded computer and card reader)
- DC power supply plug pack
Required for wall mounting:
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Drill/driver
- Fasteners suitable for wall material
- Optional: Conduit for power supply lead
1.3. Installation
- Unpack the Access Point and place it on a flat surface.
- Remove the front panel by unscrewing the 4 corner screws.
- Determine power lead entry point (bottom or back of enclosure). Consider using conduit if necessary.
- Mount the access point box to the wall using appropriate fasteners. Fold out the embedded computer bracket for easier access.
- Reattach the front panel and power on the device. The OnSite app will start automatically.
