Using critical and standard risk controls in project risk registers

Effective risk management in projects relies heavily on the proper implementation of both critical and standard risk controls, which form the backbone of risk mitigation strategies. This article explores how to manage critical and standard risk controls within Lucidity Risk's project risk registers.
1. Using critical and standard Risk controls in project risk registers
- Add master risk to relevant risk templates.
- Add templates to project risk registers.
- Project managers can modify critical risk controls in individual project risks without affecting risk templates.
- Project Manager Responsibilities: Review and edit individual risks in their project, including updating critical risk controls.
1.1. Updating critical or standard Risk controls
- On the Risk Register page, use filters to locate the project risk register.
- Click Risks on the far right.
- Edit each risk as per the Risk Register user guide, plus:
- Identify the control to edit (critical or standard) in the Risk Controls section.
- Click Edit on the risk control.
- Complete all fields (see Definitions of fields table). Fields marked * are mandatory.
- Click Save.
- Add any additional project-specific risk controls.
- Delete any irrelevant risk controls.
Repeat steps 3-5 for each critical and standard risk control.
