Sharing visual information through photos is crucial in many situations. Lucidity offers convenient methods for attaching photos, either via the mobile app or through a web browser, while ensuring efficient file sizes for smooth transmission and storage.
1. Attaching photos
Photos can be included as attachments in multiple areas within Lucidity. There are two ways to add photos:
- Via the Lucidity App.
- Via a web browser.
The primary locations for including photos are as attachments to forms in InForm and as attachments to incidents.
2. Adding photos via the Lucidity App
Within the app, use the camera icon on various screens to add photos. Photos can be selected from the device's gallery or captured using the built-in camera. Before saving to Lucidity, the following compression and resizing occur:
- The photo's longest side is resized to a maximum of 1280 pixels.
- JPEG compression is applied to achieve a file size of approximately 150-300KB.
This resizing and compression balance efficient data transmission over 4G networks while ensuring readable text in photographed documents like SWMS and JSAs, which many customers capture during pre-start processes. The app may limit the number of attachable photos per form or record to maintain reasonable PDF file sizes for emailing.
3. Adding photos via web browser
Within Lucidity's web interface, photos available on the computer or device can be selected for upload. Unlike the app, Lucidity does not resize browser uploads, allowing users to attach high-resolution images if desired.
However, attaching numerous large, high-resolution photos to a single record may prevent PDF generation due to excessive file sizes. In such cases, users can compress photos before attaching or split them across multiple records if PDF generation is unnecessary.
